"We've made a (not huge in any way) mistake"
Not to misquote Mr. Gob Bluth, but let me rephrase. We did not make a mistake, per se. We just have some issues we need to work out.
We gave it a shot with the new format and ... it didn't work out quite as well as we hoped.
We've had difficulties posting in the new format and have decided to head back to Blogger for the time being. We'll see if we can get some of the bugs corrected, but for now, this is home sweet home.
We now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Channel Surfing is the most well-executed aspect of this entire Web site (and is one of the few reasons I visit). The layout is attractive, the writing is sharp, and when I click a link it actually takes me to where I want to go. (Yes, imagine that!)
I commend your humility in admitting the move was indeed a bad one. Welcome back!
