Unlike that other big election going on, Channel Surfing's TV theme showdown -- our effort to determine the best TV theme song ever -- is devoid of vicious attack ads, relentless partisan bickering, and Geraldine Ferraro. It's meant to be a friendly contest, started in the spirit of love for television and music.

But that doesn't mean it hasn't gotten nasty.
