Tim Gunn on "Biggest Loser," 9/11 conspiracy theory on "Rescue Me"
Going through "Project Runway" withdrawal? Can't wait until August, which is now when Lifetime says it will air Season 6? Don't want to submit to the evil that is "American Idol?"
You might want to catch "Biggest Loser" tonight, when fashion guru and "Project Runway" father-figure Tim Gunn will be on hand to give contestants a full makeover. If you're like me and would watch Papa Gunn eat cereal, this is probably the closest thing to a "Project Runway" experience we'll be getting for a while. Plus, we've got a nice local connection to the show with the continued presence of Kristin Steede of Greenville on the show (If you want updates on Steede, by the way, our sister paper in Appleton keeps tabs on her progress here).
If you're looking for something a little more heavy -- no pun intended -- "Rescue Me" is tackling the controversial 9/11 conspiracy theory on tonight's episode. This show has never been afraid of any boundaries per se, but this is slightly beyond the talking-to-a-ghost category. In a way I'm more than curious how this will play out with Fireman Franco Rivera (Daniel Sunjata) explaining the "inside job" theory behind the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 to a French journalist. Sunjata actually does believe some of that's he's saying -- he's one of several actors and actresses who have questioned whether there's more to the "official" story -- but this might be the first time a television show has tackled this topic.
Here's a clip:
"Biggest Loser" airs on NBC tonight at 7 p.m. and "Rescue Me" airs on F/X at 9 p.m.
