Last year's Golden Globes telecast was scuttled by a little thing called the writers' strike. This year ... well, you can't really tell the difference between one awards season and another because THE SAME PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS NOMINATED FOR STINKIN' AWARDS.

I know you're mad that "The Wire" didn't even get a pity nod (I am, too), but it's interesting that the cable networks are sweeping these award noms. The only thing I could find hope in is that January Jones finally got recognized for her work on Mad Men as neurotic housewife Betty Draper(much as I love me some Jon Hamm, she's the the mad woman that drives so much of that show).

Other than that... blah. I almost hope they strike and cancel the damn thing.

Couldn't they throw "The Wire" a single bone? I mean, a scrap ... something? Couldn't they just invent a category like LARGEST AFRICAN AMERICAN CAST and give them SOME pity so a few of the actors would get invited to the dance?
