Meet the bloggers: Adam Reinhard

For about two and a half years, I was a news copy editor, but now I'm unemployed and thus have nothing to do but watch TV. Lucky for you! Now I get a chance to babble incoherently on the Interweb about my favorite shows, characters, theme songs, lighting, spin-off possibilities, and my own pitches for new shows. (Picture this: "Are You Smarter Than a Bush Attorney General Nominee?")

I want to share with you my love for staring at tiny people in a glowing box for an hour or so a night, getting emotionally involved with actors I'll never meet instead of going out and meeting real live people. I'm in no way a TV addict, and won't watch just to watch, because I recognize the medium as a shallow attempt to brainwash the masses and sell prescription drugs for phony diseases (restless leg syndrome, anyone?) But the reason I love it, the reason I pay out of the nose to Time Werner-Vetter Cable, is for those occasional moments of real, unpessimistic, dewey-eyed joy.

They come far too seldom, and you need to search them out, but they make sifting through the slop worth it. If nothing else, I hope that's what our blog does: Helps you sift through the slop to find a prize. In fact, I think I saw that on "Fear Factor" once.
