What is the deal with faulty brakes?
Perhaps with the help of his friend Superman (or perhaps just Keith Hernandez), Jerry Seinfeld came out unscathed in a one-car accident over the weekend. We probably shouldn't make light of it because he could have died, but c'mon, it's not like Seinfeld started shouting racial epithets at a comedy club!
Um, moving on ...
According to Reuters, Seinfeld was driving his 1967 two-door Fiat at a slow speed in the Long Island millionaires' enclave of the Hamptons when his brakes failed as he approached a busy intersection. He grasped for his emergency brake and sent the car into a roll.
Seinfeld, a vintage car buff, brushed off the accident and warned others not to follow his example.
"Because I know there are kids out there, I want to make sure they all know that driving without braking is not something I recommend, unless you have professional clown training or a comedy background, as I do," he said in a statement. "It is not something I plan to make a habit of."
If you're thinking this accident is some sort of penance for "Bee Movie" over-promotion, c'mon, "bee" more sympathetic. And does anyone else find it amusing that he was driving to his all-too real mansion in the Hamptons and not the fake one owned by George Costanza? Hmmm ... I wonder if Jerry has a horse named Prickly Pete?
UPDATE: I was just talking to a co-worker about this memorable footage of Seinfeld on "Larry King Live," so I decided to post it. Larry, it's time to hang it up and watch nothing but "Matlock" reruns in the old folks home. Seriously.

I bet there was a second braker.
That didn't make as much sense as I'd hoped, but I'm still going to post this comment.

That's almost as funny as the time Larry called Ringo "George" when Macca and Ringo were on Larry King Live last year.
Larry really needs to be euthanized. Sample question from his "interview" - "So, Paul, what was it like being in the Beatles?"
I thought I was watching the Chris Farley show for a minute there.
