"You'll shoot your eye out!"

Nothing says Christmas like a little quality time with the tube. From your pick of holiday movies and marathons, you'll find plenty of ways to escape crazy uncle Fred.

Surely between those christmas cookies and eggnog, you can find a little time for Ralphie Parker and his quest for "an official Red Ryder carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle, with a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time." As per tradition - at least in the past decade - you can catch "A Christmas Story" approximately 14 times beginning tonight at 7 p.m. on TBS. Here are some other examples of the notable holiday fare:

Today (Dec. 24)

"Polar Express" -- 5 p.m. on ABC Family
"Santa Claus: The Movie" -- 5 p.m. on AMC
"A Christmas Carol" -- 7 p.m. on AMC
"The Santa Clause" -- 5 p.m. on Disney
"It's a Wonderful Life" -- 7 p.m. on NBC
"How the Grinch Stole Christmas" -- 7 p.m. on ABC

Christmas Day

"Elf" -- 11 a.m. on USA Network
"A Very Brady Christmas" -- 11 a.m. on ABC Family
"Home Alone" -- 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on FX
"Bad Santa" -- 6 p.m. on Comedy Central

And, for you Scrooges out there, there are more than a few non-holiday related options as well, including a marathon of "CSI" on Spike and a hodge-podge of criminal procedurals ("Without a Trace," "Cold Case," "Law and Order") on TNT.

Happy Holidays (and TV watching) from the Channel Surfers!

Hey MJ,
You TOTALLY left out the "Addams Family" Christmas episode that aired this morning. It's the one where Uncle Fester dressed up as Santa and got stuck in the chimney. It was not only hilarious, but reminded me of Chad Fradette for some reason.
Merry Christmas everybody!

I'm Polar Expressed out! My son loves trains and once he saw it, that's all he talks about. We ended up getting it on DVD since we thought we'd miss the ABC Family airing on Christmas Eve due to church.

I was in full "Christmas Story" and "Elf" mode yesterday. How quotable is "Christmas Story?" Man, 24-hours of that film never gets old.

The gun shop in town that happens to be a client of mine (logo and website) sells the official Red Ryder air rifles.

You can see the stand in the picture!

Ironically - or is it coincidentally? - I interviewed a 10-year-old kid yesterday who actually got a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. I thought he was kidding, but then he showed me.
