It was sentimental garbage that tries to make viewers feel like they're truly connected to the family just because TV cameras have trailed them for five years. I hated every minute of that contrived package because it plays into the whole argument that Kate is justified in keeping these cameras going because the viewers DEMAND it. "Don't take my TV family away from me!" Ugh. No one would care if this show ended tomorrow. There would just be new freaks to follow. Always are.

Two, Jon and Kate are done-zo. Jon doesn't want to be on camera anymore. Kate doesn't want to give up her speaking engagements and free shopping trips to Gymboree. It was funny to see Kate say, "I'm for my kids. I'm here" and then Jon follow with, "Uh, yeah, I'm also for my kids." It reminded me of that "Simpsons" scene when Richard Nixon falsely proclaims his love for Duff beer after Kennedy endorses it.

It's hard not to get worked up after watching Kate go on and on about how depressing this dissolution is, yet not once does she address the elephant in the room -- that it's the cameras and her phony celebrity causing this. Sorry, but if you can't put a stop to the show to save your marriage, you really aren't doing everything for your kids. Fine. Maybe Jon and Kate were never meant to be. But as Liz Lemon would say, "Shut. It. Down." At least TRY. Don't pretend like you're doing everything when you can't compromise on the one thing that's truly causing the separation.

God, it sounds so stupid to get worked about two reality show "celebrities," but really, with the record ratings TLC pulled in last night, something really needs to be done. The Gosselins MUST BE STOPPED!

- TomPress-Gazette bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08510833198551909246noreply@blogger.com
